My friend Mandie, who owns Geeky Glamorous - a shop here in LA that focuses on gaming and fandom merchandise - was celebrating the one year anniversary of the opening of her brick and mortar location and she was doing something special to commemorate her first year.

Mandie had found and given blank old Nintendo game cartridges to a number of artists to create a piece around it. Some of the pieces were painted, some added to, and some created whole new worlds to look at. The result was a unique and fun art show. I was asked to photograph all the pieces for her webstore and so the artists would have photos of their work.

I had so much fun shooting them! Check out some of the pieces here and be sure to check out GeekyGlamorous.com collection.

The art will be on display in the Geeky Glamorous shop in Sherman Oaks through August 2nd. And all of the pieces are for sale if you’re looking for a unique gift for the gamer in your life!
